Weekly Empties (1)

I finished the year with an empties post and I'm starting new year with one. I decided to do some changes on my blog this year and one of them is Weekly Empties where I'll review the products I used up once a week instead of doing it once a month. So let's get into my trash stack.

As always I have to have Leaders 7 Wonders (link) mask in my empties. They are great and I continue to use them.

Andalou Lash + Lid Makeup Remover (link) wasn't bad, but it just wasn't reliable, so I never finished using it. It seems that sometimes it melted all makeup in an instant, but other times I had mascara left even after keeping cotton pads soaked with this cleanser on my lids for a while.

Danish Skincare Smooth Skin Treatment* (link) had a really interesting texture. It's a salicylic acid based liquid product that doesn't feel watery. It felt a bit more rich, but not really oily. I enjoyed using it though I probably would not purchase it again as I don't like to wait for my products to sink in before moving to the next skincare step.

I usually don't include samples/mini sized products, but this was wonderful and I wanted to share it. I'm talking about Kate Somerville Clinic Reserve Advanced Rejuvenating Cream (link). Usually I don't like heavy fragrance in my skincare, but this smelled nice and didn't bother me. As for the cream, it was light, almost gel-cream like, but it hydrated the skin well. A little bit goes a long way. My skin was very nice, soft, even while using it.

I received Trufora Triple Action Exfoliator (link) in my December's Beautyfix box and I really liked using it. It is strong exfoliation, but it isn't too harsh and it doesn't bother my skin. I would leave it as a mask for some time and my face would feel very smooth and soft. It didn't dry my skin at all. Actually, my skin would be left feeling hydrated.

Form Multitask Leave-In Lotion (link) wasn't bad, but it's just not the product I would pick myself. It's a spray lotion that you're supposed to spray closer to the hair if you want it more applied heavier and spray from further away to give lighter conditioning or you can spray it into your hands and apply to the hair that way. No matter how I used it, it worked. My only issue is that I have fine hair, so I prefer any leave-in sprays/conditioners to be on the lighter, more watery side, not cream texture. Whatever I use in richer texture (lotions, creams, serums) I apply only to my ends. This lotion was a bit hard to control and a bit too heavy for the length of my hair, but it worked fine for my ends.

I've been using John Masters Organics Citrus & Neroli Detangler (link) for years. I've just finished this one and I already have a new one. This is my go to product to apply to my damp ends after washing the hair. It makes brushing the hair so easy and it also hydrates my ends without overweighing them.

I only have one bodycare product so far. It's Clarisonic Refining Skin Polish (link) that I received with my Clarisonic Smart. It was ok, but nothing special. It did work well with Clarisonic body head, but I think the head itself does most of the job, so any body scrub/wash would be good with it.

Ecocare makes my favorite makeup remover wipes (Apple & Honey scent), but I can't get them anymore. I decided to try their Vanilla Baby Wipes (link), but ended up using them to wipe my hands, brushes and surfaces while applying makeup.

I'm not into blushes, but there always comes a time when I want to try and start using blush, so I get one, I use for a few times and I stop. It makes me sad that Lily Lolo Cheek Duo in Coralista (link) is going to trash barely touched. There's nothing wrong with this product and the colors are beautiful and look great on light skin, but I just didn't use it enough. I just can't get into using blush. The highlighter was pretty and subtle, perfect for everyday use, but since I used one side, the duo was mostly forgotten in my makeup drawer. I actually had Sculpt & Glow Duo from the brand in the past and I loved it. As for this cheek duo, it started smelling weird, so even though it's a powder product, I'm getting rid of it.

Next product is from Lily Lolo as well - Illuminator in Bronze (link). This is a beautiful product and I used it up. It is well pigmented and a bit darker than I expected, so I had to be careful when applying it during daytime. I had no problems using it for going out at night. It was easy to fix using some powder and blending out if a little bit too much was applied. I used this illuminator on my cheeks/cheekbones.

I love the color of MUFE Artist Rouge Lipstick in C211 Rose Wood (link), but it wasn't my go to lipstick and I used it only a couple of times. It's one of those lipsticks that I can't apply nicely if I'm in a rush and have to spend some time applying it perfectly to the corners of my lips. It also transfered on my teeth sometimes, so it's not a lipstick I wear confidently. However, the color was really beautiful and perfect for cold months. I also loved applying one of Buxom lip glosses on top to give it a sparkly effect. I took the lipstick to use recently and it smelled weird (old lipstick/clay smell), so I think it's time to say goodbye to it. I can't remember how it smelled when I got it and I think it wasn't smelling too nice at that time also, but it's just not worth keeping. Besides, that's a great excuse to go lipstick shopping.

Another lip product that doesn't smell as it should is Honest Beauty Demi Matte Lip Crayon in Marsala Kiss (link). I used it a lot, but it seemed to never end and since it change the scent, I'm tossing it out. The color is gorgeous. It's described as muted mauve, but on my lips it's more of a medium pinkish nude. I've got lots of compliments wearing it. The lipstick is very comfortable and hydrating on the lips. It wears well. It did transfer on my teeth a few times even after doing the O trick, but I loved it too much not to wear it. I have a ton of lip products and there are many more I wanna get, but I would consider repurchasing this one.

100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Eyebrow Powder Gel in Taupe (link) was my must have brow product for so many years. This is the first time that I have to throw it away unfinished as it changed its scent. That's because I had some other brow products that I've been using and because this eyebrow pomade lasts so long. I think it's supposed to be good for 6 months, but I can never use it up in that time and always end up using way longer. While I still love it, I recently found a new brow pencil that is a bit quicker to use and gives just as perfect of a result, so I might switch to that pencil for now.

Another 100% Pure brow product is Green Tea Fiber Builder in Soft Brown (link). I didn't like it the first time I tried it, but I tried to gt used to it and find a way to use it. It's been over 6 months and it didn't happen. I don't like it, I don't reach for it and I don't wanna force myself to use it up. The brush is small, but it's not comfortable for my brows and I end up messing the area around the eyebrows when I try to use it. It also doesn't look natural and sticks the hair together if more product is applied.

I used up a sample size of It Cosmetics CC+ Cream Illumination (link). I liked it alright, but I think I prefer the regular CC+ Cream that I've recently finished up. While it's called CC cream, it's really a foundation and a medium to full (more full) coverage one. I would get it again for sure.

Last but not least is Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer Creme (link). I'm on my second sample right now and I'm planning on getting a full size one. I only use concealer for my undereyes and this is perfect. It brightens the area, it doesn't crease, doesn't get in lines. It applies well, blends easily and stays on all day.
